Welcome to the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit Website
It gives me great pleasure to share and engage with you on the mileage that the Government of Uganda has achieved through the catalytic role of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) to improve service delivery.
The government’s goal through PMDU is to drive service delivery to the people of Uganda and specifically fast-track the implementation of National Flagship projects e.g. the Parish Development Model, National Development Plan priorities (Core Projects), Presidential and Prime Minister’s directives in order to achieve optimal results and ultimately nurture a performance culture of speed and rigor within the Public sector.
PMDU’s interventions focus on generating clear and concentrated stakeholder efforts for faster and better strategic outcomes through a systematic approach informed by the five (5) deliverology principles (5Ps) that include, Prioritization, Problem-solving, Planning for Implementation (Delivery Labs), Pressure for results and Progress reporting.
Currently, PMDU prioritizes eight areas thematic areas including Health, Education, Infrastructure, Data and Research, Food Production, Jobs and Income, Financing, and Public sector management. Future priorities will include Agro-processing industries, and selected industries e.g. Iron & Steel, Textiles, and Construction materials.
We believe in our mandate and the capacities we hold will build on the progress that has been made in addressing the bottlenecks to service delivery.
