WHO WE ARE

The Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) is an arm of the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), It is mandated to catalyze fast track implementation of Flagship Projects, Presidential Initiatives and Key Sector Results.

The unit was established in response to concerns about delays in the implementation of government priorities, policies and programs and it focuses on identifying and quickly addressing implementation constraints and bottlenecks for effectiveness in service delivery.

WHAT WE DO

The Delivery Unit was established to catalyze and track execution of projects and programs with an initial focus on key priority areas of Government, namely:

(i) Infrastructure, Energy, Minerals, Oil and Gas, Works and Transport

(ii) Education and Health (Outcomes in learning and health)

(iii) Agriculture, Industry, Trade and Tourism (Incomes and employment)

(iv) Accountability and Governance (Public Sector Management)

PMDU performs and focuses on generating clear, faster and better strategic outcomes through a methodical approach informed by 5 deliver-ology principles (5Ps)

OUR MANDATE

The Delivery Unit is mandated to execute the following specific tasks;

1. Facilitate effective implementation of the President's key priority areas as outlined in the National Vision 2040, Manifesto and the National Development Plans

2. Ensure that the Presidents key priorities are clearly identified and sectors are supported to prepare delivery plans for real-time monitoring and problem solving

3. Strengthen the implementation of the OPM’s constitutional mandate of coordination and implementation across Government MDAs and,

4. Strengthen the Government’s ability to deliver flagship (core) project priorities through systematic processes to drive progress and delivery results.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

1. Achieve improved productivity in government by accelerating quality and timely execution of core NDP III flagship projects to ensure early/on schedule completion, and within budget.

2. Achieve improved service delivery in the identified top priorities of government that is; quality of primary health care, quality in education, improved household incomes and track growth in employment generation and infrastructure development.

2. Nurture a performance culture of speed and rigor within the public service

3. Introduce catalytic initiatives to quickly unblock obstacles to service delivery.
